• MADILL -- Graveside services for James Cone French, 56, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Cumberland Cemetery with Paul Dowdy officiating.

French was born to Cone Johnson French and Lois Bernice Burns Cargal March 24, 1944, in Durant. He died Oct.17, 2000, in Madill. French married Mary Rice on Sept. 21, 1963, in Chickasha. French was reared in Albany before moving to and attending school in Russett.

He joined the United Air Force after school and upon his discharge lived in Chickasaw, Grand Prairie, Texas, and Anna, Texas, before moving to Madill in 1989. He was employed as a truck driver most recently in north Texas.

He was preceded in death by his father, Cone French; and a sister, Frances Arden. Survivors include his wife, Mary French, Madill; one son, James French, Mannsville; his mother, Bernice Cargal, Madill; brother, John Cargal, Mannsville; two sisters, Chick Cargal, Mannsville, and Phyllis Worley, Oklahoma City; and two grandsons.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday.

Services are under the direction of Watts Funeral Home in Madill.
