Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Easterwood, Russett, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Aug. 6, 2005, with a reception in the First Baptist Church fellowship hall in Mannsville.

Hosts of the event were the couple's children and grandchildren, Dorinda and Dan Weaver, and Gwen and Maddie Weaver, Virginia Beach, Va.; Wayne Jr. and Lisa Easterwood, and Zach, Taylor and Dalton Easterwood, Hendersonville, Tenn.

Wayne and Codeen met while attending Russett High School. They were married on Sept. 3, 1955, at Russett Baptist Church. Wayne graduated from Oklahoma State University with a degree in engineering, and Codeen graduated from Draughon's Business College in Oklahoma City.

Wayne taught high school at Tupelo and Putnam City for 10 years before going to work for Cities Service Gas Company in Oklahoma City in the engineering department. He retired from The Williams Companies in Tulsa in February of 1994.

In addition to caring for their two children, Codeen worked for the Baptist Book Store in Oklahoma City for 15 years. When they moved to Tulsa, she worked for Williams Natural Gas Co. for 10 years. She retired with Wayne and they moved back to Russett, where they now live.

They established ACE Quilting shop in 1995, where they work together serving quilters in southern Oklahoma, northern Texas and by mail from all across the country.
