Arlen Fowler assisting. Elizabeth Klinger will arrange the music. Interment will be at Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Watts Funeral Home, Madill. Elizabeth was born Jan. 31, 1937, at Rockland St. Mary, Norwich, Norfolk, England, to the late Edward James Andrews and Helen Emma Teresa Bailey Andrews. She passed away Tuesday morning, Sept., 18, 2001, in an Oklahoma City hospital at the age of 64 years. Reared on a farm in England, Liz attended Rockland St. Mary Primary School for two years, Norwich High School for Girls for 11 years. She then attended Bedford College of Physical Education for three years. While at Bedford she played on the All England Women's LaCrosse Team, participating in international competitions. Liz taught physical education several years at Runton High School for Girls in Cromer, Norfolk, and at Bedgebury Park School for Girls in Kent, England. She married William C. "Bill" Chapman on July 4, 1964, in Rockland St. Mary, Norfolk, England and moved to the United States to settle in Madill, Okla. Liz was a devoted mother and grandmother who lived her life with her family as the centerpiece, and then shared her extra time with her community. Never one to complain, but instead focus on the needs of others, she devoted time to the Fran Drummond Day Care Center in Madill where she had been a member of the board since 1979, serving as past president and currently as treasurer. She was a devoted mother and supporter of the Madill Booster Club, Marshall County 4-H and Madill FFA. She was also active in Ardmore in the Ladies of the Leaf Literary Club, Holly Garden Club and the Joint Ventures Stock Club. She attended First Presbyterian Church of Ardmore. Liz was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Susan Sutcliffe; and brother-in-law Richard "Dick" Sutcliffe. She is survived by her husband, William C. "Bill," of the home; a daughter, Belinda Helen Chapman of Ardmore; sons, Ian Bruce Chapman and wife, Jill, of Russett, Colin Andrew Chapman of Washington, D.C., and Edward Scott Chapman of Chicago; grandsons, Luke and Lane Chapman of Russett; a brother, John Andrews and wife, Margaret, of England; a brother-in-law, Fred A. Chapman Jr. and wife, Joan, of Ardmore; nieces and nephews, Emma and Sophie and James of England, Katherine and Sarah of England, and Ruth, Elise and Eric of Ardmore; a cousin, Michael Andrews of England; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews; and many friends. Ayers - Services for Hubert J. Ayers will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Trinity Baptist Church with the Rev. Terry Tolbert and the Rev. Wayne Fite officiating. Interment will be in the Hillcrest Memorial Park. Ayers was born April 3, 1914 at Broken Bow to the late Charley E. and Omie Hall Bradley Ayers. He died Dec. 25, 1999 in the local hospital. He married the former Goldie Lemons on March 5, 1935, at Russett. Having served in the Army during World War II, he lived most of his life in the Ardmore area. He was the retired manager of Groendyke Transport Company, member of the Trinity Baptist Church, former member of the V.F.W., American Legion, D.A.V. and the Optimist Club. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth and Archie Lee Ayers, and by a sister, Rena Smith. He is survived by his wife, Goldie, of the home; son, James Edwin Ayers of Moore; daughter, Cleo Chaffin of Healdton; brothers, Carl Ayers of Montebello, Calif., Marvin Ayers of Yuma, Ariz., Arthur Ayers of Topock, Ariz., and Sim Ayers of Yuma, Ariz.; sisters, Pauline Speck of Grandview, Wash., and Addie Marie Martin of Wichita Falls, Texas. Born Aug. 2, 1932, in Lone Grove to Earl William and Ruby Mae Olds Behrens, he died July 31, 2004, at his residence. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Norma Jean Richardson and Carol Duncan; two brothers, James and Harold Behrens, and one son, Steve Behrens. Bill was reared in Russett and graduated from Russett High School in 1950. On May 19, 1951, he married Goldie Floudel Bearden at Ardmore. They were married for 53 years. Bill and Flo lived at Nicoma Park and he worked as an aircraft electrician at Tinker Air Force Base for 28 years. He retired in 1988 and moved to Madill. He was a member of the Church of Christ. Bill was an avid St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan and fisherman and a very special dad and grandpa. Mr. Brock died Wednesday, March 30, 2005, at a Stonewall nursing home. He was born Sept. 13, 1926, at Matoy, near Caddo, to Rufus Thomas and Minnie Gaye Swader Brock. He attended school at Russett and moved to this area April 28, 1962, from Madill. Mr. Brock married Virginia Lois Harris on Jan. 26, 1946, at Gainesville, Texas. She died Feb. 6, 1984. He was an equipment operator-maintainer operator for Pontotoc County, District #3 until his retirement. He was formerly a ranch hand for many years. Mr. Brock was a member of Rocky Point Missionary Baptist Church and had served in the U.S. Army during World War II from 1945 until 1949. Survivors include three daughters, Judy Thomas and husband John, Stonewall, Ann Bock and husband Lee, Clarksville, Ga., and Nancy Hudson, Trenton, Texas; two sons, Eddie Brock and wife Melissa, Celeste, Texas, and Mark and SuzAnn Brock, Roswell, N.M.; a sister, Paula Russell, Mesquite, Texas; 18 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; one great-great- grandson; and numerous nieces and nephews. Fred Waldrep officiating. Born on March 4, 1931, in Brownsville, Okla., to Arthur E. "Aus" Brown and Annie Laura "Slack" Goff Brown, she passed away on Oct. 23, 2006, at the Madill hospital. She married Emit Brant Clark on June 4, 1951, at Gainesville, Texas. He preceded her in death on Aug. 24, 2006. She was also preceded by a son, Bobby Dale Clark; her parents; and granddaughter, Emerald Vega. She graduated from Russett High School and was a homemaker and had lived in the Oakland-Madill area since 1994. She loved to bowl and was a member of several leagues while living in Wyoming. She enjoyed going to the Senior Citizens Centers in Mannsville and Dickson. She was baptized in 1946 and in recent years became a member of Mannsville Church of Christ. Interment will follow at Mannsville Cemetery under the direction of Watts Funeral Home. Sitter was born in Lebanon, Okla., to Andy and Betty Snider Colson on March 27, 1913. She went to be with her Lord on Monday, July 24, 2006, at the Madill hospital. During her childhood years, she made many lifelong friends in Lebanon where she lived before moving to Russett, Okla., in 1937. On Jan. 19, 1939, she married John Dewbre in Madill and they spent the majority of their lives operating Dewbre's Grocery in Mannsville. God blessed their love with two precious daughters that she adored. She was a member of Mannsville First United Methodist Church where she served God faithfully. She loved her family and her church. Also, her hometown of Mannsville had a very special place in her heart. She loved playing cards, sitting on her front porch swing, and reminiscing with family and friends. She had a very generous heart, always making sure everyone's needs were met before her own. She will be remembered for her fun loving spirit. Her family and friends were her whole world. She touched so many lives in her 93 years of life and she will be greatly missed by everyone that had the privilege of knowing her. One of triplets born on Dec. 17, 1917, in Russett, Okla., to William Matthew and Nancy Ragsdale Dewbre, he passed away on April 11, 2007, at his Lone Grove residence. He was preceded in death by his infant brothers, other brothers, Oran, Omar John and Ester Dewbre; sisters, Frankie Juctice and Ecle Dewbre; grandson, Edwin Davis Jr.; and granddaughter, Tracey Davis. A resident of the Ardmore/Lone Grove area most of his life, he served his country in the U.S. Army receiving the World War II Victory Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, American Theater Ribbon, EAME Theater Ribbon and Three Service Stars. Arlyn was a self-employed contractor before he retired and was a member of New Hope Free Will Baptist Church. He enjoyed bowling, playing gold, and loved the Oklahoma Sooners. He and Glenna Faye Rhodes were married on June 25, 1946, in Madill, Okla. Lucy Jean (Duncan) Graham, 77, of 632 Folkerth Ave., Lot 73 Sidney, died peacefully on Jan. 19, 2008, at 4:30 p.m. at her daughter's residence, 716 Villa Park Court, Fort Wayne, Ind., Surrounded by loving family. She was born June 18, 1930 to the late Fred and Minnie (Sharrock) Duncan. She married Harold F. Graham Jr. in Fort Wayne, Ind., on April 30, 1981 and he survives her. Lucy is also survived by one brother, Jack Duncan of Paris, Texas; six children, Deborah and Terry Ward of Churusbosca, Ind., Mrs. Terry McComb of Fort Wayne, Rick Shaw of Tulsa, Okla., Ronald Shaw of Fort Wayne, Ind., and Mrs. Lori Welbaumn of Fort Wayne. Born Nov. 20, 1909, at Willis, she died April 30, 1999, at a Norman health care facility. She was preceded in death by three sons, Oliver E. Gray, Ollie R. Gray and Carl W. Gray; two grandsons; and two great-grandsons. Mrs. Gray was reared in the Willis area. She married Ollie Willis "Bud" Gray on March 11, 1928, at Powell. They lived in the Willis area until 1947, moving to Russett and later moving to Mannsville in 1965. In 1966 she moved to Norman, where she lived the remainder of her life. She was a member of the Mannsville Baptist Church. Survivors include five sons, Tommy Gray, Norman, Donald Gray, Newalla, Dan Gray and Ernest Gray, both Mannsville, and Charles Gray, Russett; four daughters, Margie Forguson and Leoma McClung, both Russett, and Geneva Rigney and Betty Green, both Mannsville; 28 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Interment will follow at Willis Cemetery. Born March 21, 1933, at Willis to Oliver Willis and Lela E. Dryer Gray, she died June 23, 2000, at Ardmore. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Ollie, Carl and Dan Gray. She married John Dailey McClung on Jan. 16, 1965, in Oklahoma City. Raised at Willis, she moved to Russett in 1947 and attended high school there. In 1951 she moved to Oklahoma City where she attended Drawns Business College. She moved back to Russett in 1977 with her husband. Survivors include her husband, of the home; one son, John E. McClung, Oklahoma City; two daughters, Linda Kitterman, Lakewood, Wash., and Connemara Dunn, Vancouver, Wash.; four brothers, Gene Gray, Norman, Donald Gray, Newalla, Charles Gray, Russett and Ernest Gray, Mannsville; three sisters, Margie Forguson, Russett, Geneva Rigney and Betty Green, both Mannsville; and seven grandchildren. Interment will follow at Russett Cemetery. Born Jan. 13, 1907, at Boggy Depot, Indian Territory, to Newton G. and Minnie M. Hayes Hall, he died Feb. 13, 1998, at a Tishomingo hospital. Hall was reared at Nida and Milburn before moving to Russett in 1944, where he lived the remainder of his life. He married the former Jewel V. Jarnigan on Oct. 20, 1939, at Tishomingo. Hall was a retired farmer and rancher, and was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include his wife, of the home; one son, Donald, Madill; one brother, Cody , Las Vegas; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Bearers are Ian Chapman, William Chapman, Wayne Easterwood, Greg Matchen, Terry Dean Jackson, Chad Coleman and Carl Harlow.

She began working for Harry’s Grocery on East Blackwell and later was a clerk for J. C. Penney’s, Hunt’s , C. R. Anthony and General Dollar Store. Throughout the years, she was a representative for Avon products. She was a member of The Wesleyan Church and taught Sunday School and was church secretary. She also belonged to Blackwell Business and Professional Women’s Club and to Al-Anon. Her husband preceded her in death March 3, 1983. Survivors are three daughters, Delnah Stafford of Guthrie, Linda Collins of Sand Springs and Goldia Clonts of Blackwell; one son, Ancel Michael James of Blackwell; eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; three sisters, Goldia Clonts of Blackwell, Nova McDaniels of Wichita and Jill Horstman of Ponca City, and three brothers, Lawrence Lemons of Oklahoma City, Clifford Lemons of Edinburg, Texas, and Nolan Lemons of Dallas, Texas. He proudly served in the U.S. Army and saw action in the Korean conflict. He was a lifelong farmer, rancher and professional livestock auctioneer responsible for registered Angus sales across the United States. He owned and operated Johnston County Feed and Supply for 25 years before retiring to raise cattle on his Russett farm. He was very active in Johnston County civic and community affairs. He was a proud husband, father and grandfather who will be missed by his family and many friends. PERNIE FRANCES LEMONS. EDINBURG – Pernie Frances Lemons was born Sept. 18, 1921, in Lone Grove, Okla. She passed away March 8, 2004, at McAllen Medical Center. Pernie Frances was a member of the First Baptist Church of Edinburg. As a young child she moved with her family, the late John and Jewell Beam, to Russett, Okla., where she attended a small country school. She was captain of the girl’s basketball team and graduated as salutatorian of her senior class. On June 15, 1940, Pernie Frances married Clifford Raymond Lemons in Tishomingo, Oklahoma, and moved to the Rio Grande Valley 57 years ago. Together, the young couple raised two daughters. Pernie Frances graduated from Pan American College in 1958. She taught in the Edinburg school district for 30 years. She had a love for learning and continued her education with life certificates as counselor, Diagnostician, Special Education and Speech Therapy. After retirement, she continued her education at the Reynaldo G. Garza School of Law with a degree of Doctor of Jurisprudence on Aug. 24, 1995. Pernie Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Raymond Lemons in 1991. She is survived by her daughters, Tessa Rall and son-in-law, David Rall of Edinburg and Carolyn Deck and son-in-law Steve Deck of McAllen. The family moved to Russett, Ok where Larence lived his growing up years. He was a part of a very large & loving family, consisting of 4 brothers and 5 sisters. Larence was raised by a precious mom who was always there to love, care, guide & give each of her 9 children every individual need of their hearts. He married his high school sweetheart, Lindle Lee James, on July 8, 1933. Before their wedding day, he built his bride a modest log cabin home. He didi it all by himself, cutting each log by hand, cutting all the singles for the roof. They celebrated 63 years of marriage in 1996. Larence was proud of the fact that he helped build the historic tower standing on the hill at Lake Murray. He & Lindle moved to OKC in the late ‘30s with their two children, Bob & Barbara Ann. For a time, he worked in the grocery store business and then began working in the sheet metal dept. at Tinker Field AFB, repairing airplanes. He retired with honor from TAFB after 35 years. He then worked for the old Capitol Hill Bank and pastured a small mission church in Moore, Ok. He received a Bachelor of Science in Education from East Central University and a Masters degree in Administration from the University of Oklahoma. Since 1950, the name S. G. "Pete" Littlepage has been a part of the educational system in Johnston County. As basketball coach, Principal, English teacher and Superintendent, Mr. Littlepage spent 41 years in education. He taught and coached in Pontotoc and Russett. He was the Principal at Ravia High School and in 1963, Tishomingo High School. In 1966, Pete was selected at the Superintendent for the next school year and served as Superintendent for 25 years, retiring in 1991. Pete became the epitome of success as an Administrator in Johnston County. He was named Citizen of the Year in 1988 by the Johnston County Chamber of Commerce and was also named the Distinguished Administrator of the year by the Oklahoma Association of School Administrators. Jerry worked as a sheet metal mechanic at Holt Allied Services for several years before retiring in 2002. He attended Mannsville Assembly of God Church. Jerry enjoyed going to cattle sales, farming and loved his cattle. 'Dave' Morgan - Graveside rites for David Henry "Dave" Morgan, 70, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Russett Cemetery with Jerry George officiating. Morgan died June 16, 1998, at his home in Mill Creek. Louella Riffe Oglesby - Louella Riffe Oglesby, 91 of Ravia, passed away Tuesday December 11, 2007, at her home in Ravia. She was born in Ravia to the late David M. Riffe and Susan Parham on July 21, 1916. Louella was raised in Ravia where she graduated from Ravia High School. She later graduated from Murray State College in Tishomingo and continued her education at a college in California where she received a Masters Degree. Louella taught students front kindergarten age to College for 39 years, and also for three years in Japan She was always taking books to Ravia School for the kids to read. She married Wesley Oglesby on January 2, 1937 in Ardmore; he preceded her in death on Sept. 20, 1947. Louella was a member of the Old Settlers of Ravia, several teaching organizations, and was also a member of the Russett Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading gardening and sewing. She is survived by her grandsons and wives Mike Ducummon and wife Peggy of Ravia, Steve Ducummon and George Ducummon both of Tulsa and Donald Ducummon and wife Debbie of Adair; four cousins, Jack Riffe of Sulphur, Foy Phillip, of Harrah, Shelby Parham of Enid and Tim Phillips of Yorba Linda, Calif.; four great‑grandchildren, eight great‑great‑grandchildren and one great‑great‑great grandchild. He attended 11 years of school at Ravia and graduated from Russett High School. He had earned two associate degrees from Murray State College. He served 20 years in the Army Reserves. He also served in Special Forces, the Green Berets and Secret Service. He had served with the Dallas Police Department and worked as a federal drug enforcement agent in Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Grand Prairie, Texas, before retiring and moving to the Tishomingo area in 1975. He was a member of Enos Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife, of the home; daughters, Cheryl Jayne, Las Vegas, and Kathy Miller, Sulphur; a brother, Chester "Chet" Ozment, Kingston; and six grandchildren. He graduated from Tishomingo High School and later from Murray State College. He married LaVerle Sayre in Gainesville, Texas, on June 19, 1954, and had lived in Johnston County for most of his life. John was a letter carrier with the United States Postal Service, retiring after 29 years of service. He also retired from the 1245th Transportation Company, a part of the 45th Division, Oklahoma Army National Guard, as a Command Sergeant Major with 40 years of service. He was preceded in death by his father; his daughter, Patricia Ann Pryor, in 1958; and his sister, Darlene Wheeler. John is survived by his wife LaVerle of the home; two daughters, Linda Bacu of Durant and Jana Frank and her husband Dave of Tishomingo; his mother, Opal Pryor of Tishomingo; two brothers, Clayton Pryor and wife Gloria of Tishomingo and Curtis Pryor and wife Johnna of Purcell; his sister, Gloria Jean Pryor of Tishomingo; four grandchildren and five great‑grandchildren. Services were held under the direction of Clark Funeral Service, Tishomingo. Sanders, Norman Daniel, 78, was born June 11, 1928 in Tyrone, OK and grew up in Guymon. He passed from this life March 11, 2007, at his home in OKC. He is survived by his wife, Joan, of the home; two sons, Larry and wife, Linda, Ricky and wife Toni; Stepson, Charles Kimbrough and wife Cindy, all of OKC; 12 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren; and numerous relatives and close family friends. Norman was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Ira Wadley Sanders; two brothers, Hoyt and Garland; and his oldest son, Danny. Norman started work as a roughneck in the oilfield as a teenager and spent his working life in the oil patch in various phases of the business; in Venezuela until the revolution in the 1950s; to the Gulf of Mexico; from the north slope of Alaska to the Bering Sea. Norman worked on wells in every oil-producing state on the continent of N. America. In 1984, he started his own company, the Turbulator Company, inventing, manufacturing, and selling a device he and a friend designed for cementing in oil or gas well in order to bring it into production. Norman had an oilfield accident in the early 1970's that crushed his knees and ankles. He was told he would not work again, much less walk. A determined man, he not ony worked and walked, he started his own company and stayed in business until he retired. Norman accepted the Lord as his savior at the age of 10, beyond that, he had 3 earthly passions: his family, his work ethic, and his flying. He learned to fly at age 16 and continued until his declining health forced him to ground himself. He often used the 2 airplanes he had owned in his business and they were his beloved toys as well as his passion. Services were at 10:00 am Saturday, March 17, 2007 at Brookwood Baptist Church, 8921 S. Walker in OKC, where memorials were made in memory of Norman. He was buried in the Russett Cemetery Saturday March 17th at 4:30 pm in the Boyer family grave sites. Born on April 8, 1945, in Mannsville, Okla., to R.W. and Gerta Jane Cockburn Scruggs, he passed away on Sept. 15, 2006, at a hospital in Little Rock, Ark. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Ruthie Scruggs; and two brothers, Howell Leon and Huel Dillard Scruggs. Allen lived most of his life in Mannsville before moving to Arkansas. He was a member of the Teamsters Union and affiliated with the Assembly of God Church. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Christopher Underwood [this is a mistake-- Christopher was his grandson, child of Linda and Darrell Underwood. He had Down’s syndrome], and a sister, Geraldine Mose. She died Friday in a Chickasha hospital at the age of 82. She was born Nov. 23, 1906 in Russett, the daughter of the late Clarence and Katie Belle Lemons, and was reared in the Russett community. She was married to Easter Willis Dec. 26, 1923 in Tishomingo. They moved to Gracemont for several years, before returning to Russett in 1959. Mr. Willis preceded her in death April 8, 1970. Mrs. Willis has lived in Minco since 1987. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Minco and then attended the Russett Baptist Church. Survivors include two sons, Curtis of Oklahoma City and Bill of Russett; two daughters, Neoma Harryman and Dorothy Greenroyd, both of Minco; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; three brothers, Lawrence Lemons of Oklahoma City, Clifford Lemons of Edinburg, Tex., and Nolan Lemons of Dallas, Tex., four sisters, Golda Ayers of Ardmore, Leona James of Blackwell, Geraldine Horstman of Ponca City and Nova McDaniel of Wichita, Kan.
