I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and still enjoying the holidays as the new year approaches. Each year at this time I look back over the past 12 months and count all the good things that have come my way. I have much to be thankful for, I’ve been blessed 10 fold.
Also I look back at the friends who did not finish out this year with us. It saddens me to think of those who have allowed me to visit them week after week through this newsletter, some for many years, and now they are gone. Many I had not met in person, but they were still like family. I am just thankful for the time I did have with them, and their contributions of history to my newsletter.
Here are a couple bricks I sandblasted before Christmas to be used as presents for people. Turned out nice.

This is not a brick but a flagstone someone had me sandblast. The first picture is the rubber stencil I adhere to the brick/stone before sandblasting.

This next picture is the finished product. Beautiful colors.

With the holidays still in full swing, this will be a short newsletter.

From This and That newsletter archives of December 25, 1999:
“I have been reading your This & That pages. Enjoy the articles very much. I am sending you this picture, of the last days of the Ambert Page Grocery store on Marsden road, Love County. I last entered this store in 1940, before my family moved from Marsden to Cheek Road, Lone Grove, OK. The store, at that time was south on Marsden Road. I don’t know when it was moved to the cross roads of Marsden and Oswalt. Photo taken in December 1983, a very cold winter. My next trip down Marsden road, the store was gone.”

“I seem to have upset some of your readers! I should explain that an “Old Geezer” is a London (Cockney) expression and was used affectionally! So please let them know that I am a Londoner and I am sorry if I have offended you or them as that was not my intention!” -Ireland

“Yes, the state seal of Oklahoma was stolen. There is the legend that the Sargeant of Arms of the State House went to Guthrie, OK and took it to Oklahoma City, making OKC the state capitol. Every where the State Seal is, that is where our State Capitol is. The Capitol Building in Guthrie was truly, before that time, where the Grand Masonic Lodge is located today. Of course, it’s been built onto, but the original part still exists in use, and can be seen on the east of the building.”
