A. Just steps away from the skyscrapers that fill downtown Oklahoma City, you’ll find a “much-loved garden paradise” – otherwise known as Myriad Botanical Gardens. Click Here
Q. Where is Oklahoma’s prairie chicken house?
A. Answer in next week’s newsletter
This week I added another security camera to the Bridges Compound here at home. Camera technology gets better with each passing year. In 2009 the sheriffs office received a $30,000 grant from Homeland Security to install cameras and recorders in the courthouse. That money allow the purchase of 33 Vivotek cameras and 3 Servers which I installed throughout the courthouse, the Annex 1 building next door, and Annex 2 building across the street in the old Harvey funeral home. Vivotek is top-of-the-line cameras, so I know quality when it comes to video cameras for security purposes.
Now back to the camera I bought this week for home. Its a WYZE CAM PAN camera. I was amazed at the quality and high tech that came with this $38 camera on Amazon. I also bought a 32G MicroSD card with it for $8.50 from Amazon. Just a few of the camera’s features:
Indoor/outdoor
1080p Full HD color crystal clear pics
Easy to setup (just follow voice prompts)
Pans 360 degrees, 93 degrees vertical
Tracks motion (person walking)
Stream live to phone or iPad
Instant alerts/texts to email or phone
2-Way audio
Takes snapshots
Nighttime as clear as day
Free 14-day cloud storage
1 year of 12 second motion clips stored on cloud free
Playback
Check ou all the features at the link below.

“I assume by now that you realize you missed putting the picture of the inside of the of the Skyview’s snack bar in the T&T. I’m sending you some more aerial shots of Ardmore I thought you might like to see. They were taken at the same time, 1953, as the one of the Skyview.” -Bill Bow

“When I visited my Grandma in Ardmore in the 30’s, I would swim in the Whittington Park pool mentioned this week in This and That. Later the pool was no longer there but a skating rink above where the pool was located operated in 1953 when our son had his birthday party there and I have movies of the kids who attended. There was still a wading pool in the park where we served refreshments after skating. Guess I remember farther back than some folks.” -Evelyn Gant
