Road Work Well Under Way
First attempt to use prisoners on highways is proving highly effective.
Construction work underway along the Texas-Kansas and Oklahoma highway through the Arbuckle mountains by the convict prison camp workers is progressing steadily, according to reports of officials in charge. The work of grading the roads through the mountains is extending northward in a rapid manner.
Many Ardmore motorists have been making Sunday excursions to the prison camp. More than 50 convicts from the State Penitentiary at McAlester are camped in the mountains. The camp is conducted in a military manner. It is the first attempt of the state to use convict labor on the public highways.

Formal Opening of Municipal Market Will Be Announced Soon
The municipal market on East main is nearly finished, the city manager announced this morning, an he hopes to be able to announce a formal opening within a few days.
Manager Doak stated he was going to have an entrance similar to the one at Tourist Park. The entire lot will be surrounded with posts, to prevent driving in at any angle.
The municipal scales will be moved to the market as soon as the pit can be prepared. Tables and benches will be installed and the market made up to date in every detail.
The City manager states the market will be a great convenience to farmers and expects to see a greater volume of business done by farm women next year than for the year just closing.

HAM Talk KC5JVT via Echolink
There were 11 check-ins last Sunday at 8pm for our newly formed local Net. Two new HAMs checked-in, so we are growing, slowly. I hope some of my local HAM friends in this area can join us this coming Sunday.
Also we had nearly a record number of HAMs join in on the Boredom Breaker Net at Claremore, OK yesterday, a total of 75 HAMs. As you can see from the Log below, we had quite a wide audience from all over the country.

βHave Yourself a Merry Little Christmas”
Broken Arrow, Oklahoma native Ralph Blane Hunsecker wrote the lyrics to this popular Christmas song in 1944 and it’s stood the test of time after all these years. And if you’re out in the Rose District, just head down Dallas Street to 233 East Dallas just east of Fir Avenue to find the historical marker of Blane’s boyhood home.
