Q. When did gas stations start selling gasoline using that .9 cents instead of an even penny?

A. Gasoline began featuring the 9/10 of a cent fraction during the 1930s (specifically around the Revenue Act of 1932) to pass on new federal taxes without raising prices by a full penny. When gas cost only 10–20 cents, an extra 9/10ths was crucial for profit margins. The practice was firmly established as standard by the 1950s.

“Looks like AI placed some additional hair on my Uncle Harold in the Sheriff photo.  In all my years, he never had hair like that.  Always pretty short. LOL  I did get a nice little laugh out of it though.” -Blake

Note: So I had AI put less hair on Harold, turned out realistic.

Tech Talk

Back on April 18th I mentioned Surfshark as way of protecting my 3 computers and 2 cellphones from the outside world using a VPN. Surfshark hides ALL my digital devices behind a VPN, watches for any spammers and hackers 24/7, protects from viruses and malware, and blocks ads and trackers. I pay $2.08 a month for their most popular plan. So far I’ve been really happy with the peace of mind Surfshark gives me. It has a lot of built-in security to protect our digital world. Check it out at the link below.
